What is the course about?
Dealing with conflict can be difficult. Saying 'yes' can often seem much easier than saying 'no'. Unfortunately, attempting to 'keep the peace' can cause an individual to feel demoralised and demotivated. On the other hand, outright aggression and rudeness is inappropriate and impacts negatively on a workplace.
Contrary to what some people believe, assertiveness is not a skill that you are either born with or not - It is a behaviour that can be learnt.
We offer two course lengths:

Who is the course for?
Anyone who wants to to handle difficult situations involving another person with less stress and a good outcome for all involved.
Our Assertiveness skills course will help even the most timid or outspoken of your staff to assert themselves in the appropriate manner - In other words, to get their message across clearly and confidently without causing offence.
Both the 1 day and 2 day Assertiveness Skills courses will enable delegates to:
- Recognise passive, assertive and aggressive behaviour in themselves and others
- Understand the importance of communication styles
- Use a range of methods for managing different types of behaviour
- Say 'no' without causing offence
- Listen and question effectively
- Behave assertively when other behave aggressively
- Know when and how to compromise
- Handle provocation appropriately
The 2 day Assertiveness and Conflict Resolution course covers all the above and gives extra coverage to handling conflict in the workplace.
Before and after the course
We send our pre course questionnaires to all delegates attending our Assertiveness Skills courses. The responses are confidential - We use them to (as much as possible) make sure that the course meets the needs' of each delegate.
All delegates who have attended our Assertiveness Skills course are entitled to six months free telephone and email support after the course.
